As NBA free agency winds down, teams often start turning their attention to former NBA players attempting to return to the league. This typically involves working out with several players seeking another opportunity, often during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
Damien Butchart of the US Sun reports that several former NBA players attended private free agent workouts in Las Vegas over the weekend, including Christian Koloco, Eric Bledsoe, Talen Horton-Tucker, Cory Joseph, Austin Rivers, DJ Wilson, Thon Maker, Brandon Boston Jr. and Juan Toscano-Anderson, according to Butchart.
This list includes players with varying levels of NBA success, but Bledsoe is the only one to earn All-League honors. He was selected to the All-Defensive First Team in 2019 and the All-Defensive Second Team the following season. Bledsoe last played in the NBA with the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2021-22 season, before being acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies in a trade for Patrick Beverley to Los Angeles.
Bledsoe was traded from the New Orleans Pelicans to Memphis, but never played a game there before moving to Los Angeles. After a successful stint with the Clippers, Bledsoe was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers, but never appeared in a game for the team.
It will be interesting to see if anyone from this training ends up landing an NBA job this summer.
