Paige VanZant returned to competitive fighting earlier this year and was hoping for a rematch with El Brook after the bout ended in a draw.
Misfits Boxing seems to agree, after the promotion reportedly took the fight straight after MF & DAZN: X-Series 15 in Houston, with VanZant and champion Brook each scored 48-46 in the five-round bout, with the third judge scoring it a 47-47 draw.
The bout marks VanZant's first mixed martial arts fight since losing a unanimous bare-knuckle boxing decision to Rachael Ostovich at BKFC 19 in July 2021. She has performed well in her past four MMA, boxing and bare-knuckle bouts but hasn't won a fight since submitting Ostovich at UFC in January 2019. She recently took a literal power slap on herself and came out victorious.
Brook was a social media influencer and OnlyFans model who made the transition to boxing; VanZant took the opposite path, but in recent months she has said that she makes more in 24 hours on OnlyFans than she made in her entire nine-fight, nearly six-year UFC career.
