Albany, New York – University at Albany Women's Soccer Team and Head Coach Sade Ayinde The schedule for the 2024 season has been officially announced.
“After a strong spring semester and adding 10 new players to our strong returning team, we can't wait to get back competing this fall,” Ayinde said. “Our schedule has a number of in-state games scheduled, an exhibition match against Syracuse, our season opener against LIU and we'll close out the season against Binghamton.”
The Great Danes will open the season with exhibition home games against Syracuse (Aug. 8) and Manhattan (Aug. 11) before officially kicking off the 2024 season with a home game against LIU on Aug. 17. The team will play Monmouth at home on Aug. 22 before traveling for five straight games against Fordham, Quinnipiac, St. John's, Holy Cross and Colgate. The team will close out non-conference play at home against city rival Siena on Sept. 16.
“We believe our non-conference opponents will prepare us quickly for conference play and the fight into November,” Ayinde added. “The fall will be tough and competitive, but we look forward to playing in front of our family, friends, fans, alumni and everyone in the Albany community.”
America East play will begin with a trip to UMBC on Sept. 22. Home conference games for the 2024 season include matchups against Bryant (Sept. 29), UMass Lowell (Oct. 6), NJIT (Oct. 13) and Binghamton (Oct. 31).
The 2024 America East Women's Soccer Championship will kick off with the quarterfinal matches on November 3. The semifinals are scheduled for November 7 and the final on November 10.
