Former Boston University ice hockey forward Nikita Nesterenko has signed a two-way contract with the Anaheim Ducks through the 2024-25 NHL season.
The Brooklyn, New York native spent three seasons (2020-23) with the Eagles, appearing in 56 games and recording 20 goals, 30 assists for 50 total points with a .138 success rate on 145 shots, 16 penalty minutes in 32 penalty minutes and two game-winning goals. He was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team and won Rookie of the Year.
Nesterenko was selected 172nd overall (sixth round) by the Minnesota Wild in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, but Anaheim acquired the prospect in a trade while he was still with the Eagles.
The 22-year-old played for Anaheim's American Hockey League affiliate the Ducks and the San Diego Gulls during his two seasons in the league.
Nesterenko appeared in 12 games with the Ducks, recording two goals and two points while averaging 12 minutes, 51 seconds of ice time per game. He appeared in 70 games with the Gulls in 2023-24, recording 16 goals, 21 assists, 37 points and 38 penalty minutes.
According to The Athletic's NHL reporter Eric Stevens, the contract is worth $874,125 to the NHL and $70,000 to the AHL.
Nesterenko was one of two Anaheim players the team signed to two-way contracts on Monday, joining former Minnesota defenseman Jackson LaCombe, who signed a two-year deal through the 2025-26 season.
