The NCAA Football video game series is back after an 11-year hiatus and has been rebranded as College Football 25. Early Access begins today at 4pm ET, but it's fun to see how the EA staff rates the players. In the YouTube video below, you can see how each team is rated. You can see BYU starting at the 19:20 mark.
BYU ranks in the bottom half of Big 12 teams, which is not surprising, and their highest rated players are on the defensive line. Below is a screenshot of BYU's top 13 rated players.
Top Rated Players
- Tyler Battey — Battey is BYU's lone preseason All-Big 12 selection and has the highest overall rating with an 84. He has “takedown ability,” which should reflect his pass-rush skills.
- Micah Harper — Harper missed all of last season with a knee injury, but the sixth-year junior is BYU's second-highest overall rated player with an 83 rating.
- Brayden Keim — BYU’s projected starting left tackle has an 83 rating and three physical attributes (pocket shield, PA shield, wear down) He’s a star on offense.
- LJ Martin — BYU's best skill position player, not designated a star but has three athletic qualities: head first, arm bar and workhorse.
Quarterback
Jerry Bohanaon is the top QB at BYU with an overall rating of 79. He has a speed rating of 86, making him the fastest in the QB room. There are three QBs with an overall rating of 75 — Jake Retzlaff, Treyson Borkett, and Patrick Anderson (?). Maybe McKay Hillstead would have been better in place of Anderson, but I'm not sure. Cade Fennegan has an overall rating of 60.
Fastest Player
The fastest player in the game for BYU is running back Miles Davis with a speed rating of 97 and an acceleration rating of 95 for an overall score of 71. The next fastest players are cornerback Evan Johnson and wide receiver Parker Kingston with speed ratings of 96. Parker also has agile athleticism, with an agility rating of 94 making him BYU's most agile player.
