San Francisco 49ers player and former Hawkeyes football tight end George Kittle recalled leaving a surprise in Brock Purdy's locker in a new interview.
Kittle appeared on “The Rich Eisen Show” on July 10 and talked about Purdy's build, particularly the size of his quads, as well as his early interactions with the quarterback.
When Eisen asked him to write an article about Purdy, the 49ers star explained that he likes to joke around with the rookies and see if they joke back or get embarrassed because he's a veteran player like Kittle.
So how did Kittle joke around with Purdy?
He hung a University of Iowa football shirt in Purdy's locker.
The former Iowa State football player asked Kittle if he had put the shirt there and instructed him to get it from his locker.
“I'm gonna love you, I already know that,” Kittle said of Purdy's reaction, adding that Purdy then threw the shirt on the ground.
“I just like people that I can have a good conversation with and that aren't stressful,” Kittle told Eisen. “We're all on the same team. We're all trying to accomplish the same thing, so I'm not intimidating. I promise you, I'm a pretty nice guy.”

Where is George Kittle from?
According to Register archives, Kittle was born on a football Saturday in Madison, Wisconsin, and attended Iowa City West, Cedar Falls and Norman high schools in Oklahoma. His father, Bruce Kittle, was an offensive lineman for the Hokies.
