Zach Eddy had an impressive summer league debut and is a leading candidate for the NBA's 2025 Rookie of the Year award.
The 7-foot-4 Eddie, who was recently thought to be a longshot to win the award, is currently the +600 favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Purdue University product was drafted ninth overall by the Memphis Grizzlies after questions arose about whether his athleticism and size would suit the NBA.
If his debut in Salt Lake City is any indication, Eddie will have no problem succeeding as a pro.
Eddie recorded 14 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks in 34 minutes against the Jazz in their summer league opener on Monday, piqued the interest of oddsmakers and sports betting fans.
The performance put Eddie in pole position to add yet another accolade to his collection, which already includes two Associated Press College Basketball Player of the Year awards.
As of late June after the draft, Eddie was tied for seventh-best odds to win the award at +1200 on FanDuel.
ESPN BET had Edey high at +2000.

Eddie, who joined the Grizzlies with a thin center position after trading away big man Steven Adams at last season's trade deadline, has a chance to be in Memphis' starting lineup next season.
Eddie took the top spot on the odds board from Alexandre Sarr (+700), who was drafted No. 2 overall by the Washington Wizards.
Just behind them is Zachary Lisacher (+750), who was selected with the first pick by the Atlanta Hawks.
The Lakers' Dalton Knecht (+850), the Rockets' Reed Shepard (+1000) and the Bulls' Matas Buzelis (+1000) are the only other players with odds of 10/1 or worse on FanDuel.
