Messi is scheduled to play in the first leg of the Copa America semi-finals between Argentina and Canada on Tuesday.
“Leo is fine, he finished the last game well and will be involved in tomorrow's game,” Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni said at a news conference Monday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where the semifinals will be held.
Messi was the catalyst for three of Argentina's six goals but was somewhat of a disappointment in his new home tournament last year since joining Major League Soccer's Inter Miami.

Messi also suffered anger and disappointment when he missed a crucial penalty in the quarter-final shootout, but Argentina won 1-1 (4-2 on penalties).
“I'm very angry, very angry,” Messi said of his missed penalty kick. “I just wanted to touch it and the ball went high.”

The other semifinal will see Colombia take on Uruguay at 8pm ET on Wednesday at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
When is the Copa America Final?
The winner of the semifinal will advance to the Copa America 2024 final at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday, while the loser will play in the third-place match in Charlotte on Saturday.
