Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Mike Perry is scheduled to face Jake Paul on July 20th, taking on the biggest “troublemaker” anyone has ever faced in the ring.
At 230 pounds, Paul was making weight in preparation for his heavyweight bout with Mike Tyson, and with that bout postponed until November, it will be “Platinum” dealing with all of Jake's extra muscle as they go eight rounds at cruiserweight.
In a new interview with Fighthub TV, Perry was asked about Paul's size gain and whether he suspects the YouTuber-turned-boxer is taking secret pills.
“I sparred with him a few years ago and I was 180 pounds and he was 195, maybe 205,” Perry replied. “I think he was about to fight Ben Askren.” [at 190]I don't think he really lost any weight at the time, and I don't know how he gained 25 pounds without some cheat code.”
“It doesn't matter to me,” he added. “Maybe they're just saying that to make fun of him. He certainly looks plump.”
Perry confirmed that no special drug testing was conducted for the bout.
“I haven't been tested yet,” he said. “I think the Florida commission will test everybody during fight week, or test me a few times. I'm sure it will happen after the weigh-in or whatever, and then on fight night when I head to the venue.”
Generally, that's as far as drug testing goes for most committees, and if you know you're going to be tested on game day, you'd have to be a pretty serious drug user to get caught.
“Platinum” doesn't seem to care at all, so maybe speculation is best left to the bodybuilding forums or the “More Plates More Dates” discord.

This is the aggressive attitude you want to see in response to a low kick.
