A variety of games from high school to NHL are scheduled at Valley Fair in late January.
SHAKOPEE, Minn. — It's become an annual celebration in the state of hockey. Minnesota Hockey Day features games from everything from high school to the NHL.
The 2025 edition of Hockey Day Minnesota will take place over four days in late January, with most matchups taking place at Valley Fair amusement park in Shakopee.
The schedule announced on Monday is as follows:
Wednesday, January 22nd at Valleyfair
- Lakeville North vs. Rosemount (Women)
- Eastview vs. Rosemount (Boys)
Thursday, January 23rd at Valleyfair
- Northfield vs. Orono (Women)
- Prior Lake vs. Eden Prairie (Women)
- Shakopee vs. Brainerd (Women)
Friday, January 24th at Valleyfair
- Orono vs. Delano (Men's)
- Lakeville South vs. Prior Lake (Boys)
Saturday, January 25th at Valleyfair
- Eden Prairie vs. Hibbing (Boys)
- University of Minnesota Gophers vs. Bemidji State Beavers (Women)
- Shakopee vs. Maple Grove (Boys)
Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Xcel Energy Center.
- Minnesota Wild vs. Calgary Flames
“We are excited about this matchup and look forward to a weekend of competitive hockey at one of Minnesota's most iconic locations,” Stacey Langemo, chair of Hockey Day Minnesota 2025, said in a statement.
The Hockey Day schedule will feature just the third-ever outdoor game for the University of Minnesota women's hockey team.
“We are honored to be a part of Hockey Day Minnesota 2025!” said Brad Frost, head coach of the Gopher women's hockey team. “It's always great to be able to showcase collegiate women's hockey on one of the biggest hockey days of the year. This will be a great experience for our student-athletes.”
The Minnesota Wild hosts outdoor games at different venues each year and helped start Hockey Day in Minnesota in 2007 as a way to celebrate the sport statewide.
Information regarding tickets and the television broadcast schedule for Bally Sports North will be available on the Hockey Day Minnesota website at a later date.
