Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal battled it out in a 10-round light heavyweight bout at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on Saturday night. However, viewers who purchased through the direct-to-consumer service FanMio were unable to watch the broadcast of the night's boxing main event. According to multiple subscribers on social media, the broadcast was cut off just as the first round was scheduled to begin, causing chaos.
During the bout, Diaz was ultimately victorious by majority decision, despite Masvidal outscoring Diaz 152 to 115. At the time of writing, it is unclear whether a trilogy bout will take place, as the two fights are tied at 1-1 after Masvidal won the first bout at UFC 244 in November 2019.
Boxing News: Nate Diaz defeats Jorge Masvidal via majority decision
Let's take a look at some of the reactions from disgruntled “X” fans: The fight was also available on inDemand PPV, UFC Fight Pass, PPV.com and DAZN.
American TV personality Spencer Pratt was the first to speak out, directly tagging Fanmio in a tweet.
Dear Fan Mio Why wait until 10:30 to crash my stream?

Boxing fan Ray Garza said the only reason he used Famio was to purchase the fights, and wrote that he hopes other fans will watch the fights and share similar stories first-hand.
Fan Mio You guys owe me a refund. I didn't see the main event and that's the only reason I bought the pay-per-view. I hope this proves popular and the fans agree with me. pic.twitter.com/Aiq0R1EDAW

According to “X” user Davy V, he wrote that Fanmio would not provide a refund and threatened to contact the New York Attorney General if the issue was not resolved.
I never order PPV events Fan Mio Again. I missed half the main event due to technical issues with the FANMIO app… I will be contacting the NYS Attorney General's office as FANMIO refused to refund me

Finally, Luis Martinez admitted that he was wrong when he tweeted that he should have bought the fight on UFC Fight Pass instead of FanMio, which was not down during the event, and other distributors did not appear to have issues.
Fan Mio I will never watch a PPV on this site again. I should have used UFC Fight Pass.

Diaz vs. Masvidal 2 is not the first incident of a pay-per-view feed cutting out during a main event. Prominent MMA journalist Luke Thomas expressed his disappointment in not being able to watch UFC 301 in May in a 14-minute video, citing poor customer service on the part of ESPN+. A similar incident occurred during the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather bout, making the scenario a common theme.
For anyone looking for a refund option, it's not possible: the “Refund Policy” section of Fanmio's website states that once you purchase a pay-per-view, it cannot be refunded, regardless of whether there's an issue or not.
At the time of writing, Fanmio has yet to comment on the issue.
