Nic Claxton is arguably a top 10 player at his position among NBA players under the age of 25.
After signing a contract extension with the Brooklyn Nets and staying with them for another four years, Claxton is sure to discover even more untapped potential as a Net. With that said, let's take a closer look at where Claxton stands relative to the rest of the NBA.
Among the league's centers, Claxton ranks 24th in the league in scoring, according to ESPN's John Hollinger, who broke down the NBA's statistical leaders by statistical category.
Additionally, per NBA.com, Claxton is 13th in the league in defensive rebounds (7.1 per game), 16th in offensive rebounds (2.8 per game) and eighth in blocks (2.1 per game). These are traditionally important statistical categories that any NBA center should aspire to excel in, and the Nets big man is nearing his peak in those areas.
As for 3-point shooting, be prepared for a rookie like Alex Sarr to quickly surpass Claxton in 3-point shooting accuracy and attempts, and last season a rookie like Victor Wembanyama showed off his range by taking shots close to the basket.
