Sean O'Malley has expressed his frustration with the current UFC pound-for-pound rankings.

Following last weekend's UFC 303, there have been some changes to the official UFC rankings.
In the main event of UFC 303, Alex Pereira (11-2 MMA) defeated Jiri Prochazka (30-5 MMA) by TKO in the light heavyweight main event, and in the process, “Poitan” regained his title and moved up two spots in the P4P rankings.
There are other changes to the UFC P4P rankings, which can be seen below.
Men's pound-for-pound rankings as of July 5:
1. Islam Makhachev
2. Alex Pereira (+2)
3. Jon Jones (-1)
4. Leon Edwards (-1)
5. Ilia Topuria
6. Sean O'Malley
7. Alexander Volkanovski
8. Max Holloway
9. Drix du Plessis
10. Alexandre Pantoja
11. Tom Aspinall (+2)
12. Israel Adesanya (-1)
13. Charles Oliveira (-1)
14. Sean Strickland
15. Aljamain Sterling
The formula used by UFC to compile its official rankings is as follows:
“The rankings were created by a voting panel made up of members of the media, who were asked to vote for who they believe is the top fighter in each UFC weight class and pound-for-pound. Only fighters currently active in the UFC are eligible for voting. A fighter can compete in more than one weight class at a time. Champions and interim champions are not eligible for weight class voting as they are considered the top fighter in their respective weight classes. Champions, however, are eligible to vote for pound-for-pound rankings.”
Now, “Suga” has made it clear that he’s not too happy about being ranked sixth, behind unbeaten Ilia Topuria (15-0 MMA), who is ranked fifth.
Sean O'Malley said:X' Commenting on the latest P-4-P rankings, he added:
Why is Ilia ranked higher in P4P? She has fewer title defenses and is 5 inches shorter. Please explain.

O'Malley (18-1 MMA) became the current UFC bantamweight champion after defeating Aljamain Sterling (24-4 MMA) by TKO at UFC 292 in August 2023. “Suga” defended the title against Marlon Vera (23-9 MMA) at UFC 299 in March of this year.
Topuria knocked out Alex Volkanovski in the main event of UFC 298 to become the current UFC featherweight champion.
The Spaniards responded to “suga” as follows:
“Here comes another hater, and this one is so ugly.”
Another hater, this one is ugly as hell. https://t.co/JFRlSKNIlw
