The Ducks signed left winger Pavol Leyenda to a one-year, two-way contract through the 2024-25 NHL season.
The 24-year-old (born Dec. 7, 1999) has 1-2-3 and 3-point records in 19 career NHL games with the Ducks and will play in five games with Anaheim in 2023-24. The 6-foot-4, 211-pound forward appeared in 54 games with San Diego last season, earning 19-15-34 and a +2 rating. Among San Diego's leaders, he was joint-leading in shorthanded goals (2) and third in goals against. In 104 career AHL games with San Diego, Leyenda has 32-27-59 and 123 penalty kicks, including 13-12-25 and 25 points in 50 games as a rookie in 2022-23.
A native of Michalovce, Slovakia, Legenda helped Slovakia win the bronze medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, earning 1-3=4 points with a +5 rating. He will also represent Slovakia at two World Championships in 2022 and 2024, leading Slovakia in points (5) at the 2022 tournament and ranking tied for second among team leaders in points (5-1=6 points in eight games). Legenda also played at the 2019 World Junior Championship and the 2017 U-18 World Championship.
