Boulder City High School girls soccer star Natasha Orlando will continue her journey to the next level by signing a contract to play at local junior college, the University of Southern Nevada.
“We are very excited to have our local girls playing for our local school,” head coach Arnold Orlando said. “It’s good for the community to see kids from Boulder City playing at the next level.”
Senior playmaker Natasha Orlando was named the 3A Mountain League Player of the Year after leading the Eagles to an 11-6 record.
Coach Arnold Orlando thinks her play will translate well to the college game for CSN, which just finished a 5-7-2 campaign.
“CSN is acquiring players who are team builders,” said Orlando. “Natasha will be playing as a forward next season, which will give them a good offensive line. She is a great fit for the program and we expect her game to perform very well.” doing.”
Orlando, who was selected to the All-League first team, finished his senior season with 32 assists and 16 goals.
She ranked first in Nevada and fourth nationally for most goal assists, regardless of classification.
A threat throughout her three seasons with the Eagles, Natasha Orlando was a complete playmaker with 78 assists and 49 goals, leading Boulder City to its third consecutive postseason appearance and state tournament appearance.
It looks like she will be just as successful in the next chapter.
“I am very excited to be a part of CSN’s program,” said Natasha Orlando.
“I feel like this is the next chapter of my life and it's going to be a big part of my life. I'm nervous about the upcoming competition, but playing on a new team and what it means to me. I can’t wait to see what’s in store.”
