“Britain's Chris Eubank Jr. has joined Canelo's list of potential rivals and is currently the favorite to sign the contract. He is the world middleweight champion with a record of 33-3 with 24 knockouts and is fresh off a knockout of former Jalisco victim Liam Smith in a bid for revenge,” ESPN's Salvador Rodriguez said on his X account, formerly known as Twitter.

After Canelo Alvarez reached an agreement with mandatory challenger William Scull his International Boxing Federation (IBF) Belt holders Edgar Berlanga and David Benavidez were the favorites to face off again in 2024, but that appears to have changed.
