Mike Tyson didn't hesitate to name the boxing legend of any era he would most like to face.

When asked to name his dream boxing opponent of all time, Mike Tyson didn't hesitate.

Tyson faced off against every challenger throughout his legendary professional boxing career, fighting some of the biggest name boxers of his generation.

He faced Evander Holyfield in consecutive bouts and also had memorable fights with the likes of Larry Holmes, Michael Spinks and Lennox Lewis.

The 57-year-old, who fought an exhibition bout against boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020, was scheduled to return to the ring on July 20 against Jake Paul.

However, the bout was postponed and rescheduled for November 15 after Tyson suffered a recurrence of an ulcer in May and was unable to train.

During an interview with Steve Farhood on ShoBox, “Iron” Mike was asked to name his dream opponent of any era and he immediately named Floyd Mayweather.

Farhoud laughed and said he “liked” that answer, before the former world heavyweight champion explained why a fight with Mayweather would be fun.

“Yeah, I would have loved to fight him. I wish he was the same weight as me,” he explained. “Obviously, we wouldn't be able to fight because of the weight difference, but I wouldn't fight him the way they fought him.”

Mayweather left the boxing world undefeated with an astounding professional record of 50-0.

But Tyson believes he would have known how to fight Mayweather, adding: “I would be mean and I would play dirty. He's really strong so I would have to do everything to fight him.”

“It's impossible… It's nearly impossible to fight him cleanly. He's very hard to beat.”

“I don't care. He's really hard to beat. The style he deploys, that particular style, it's really hard to beat him.”

“I don't care. Love him or hate him, he's hard to beat. If a guy like Floyd was a heavyweight, I would fight differently.”
