Crowe is next to assistant GM Tom Hawley.
San Jose Hockey Now has learned that Crowe, who most recently served as a senior advisor with the New York Rangers, will return to the San Jose Sharks in a yet-to-be-announced capacity.
His return will no doubt be welcomed by fans.
A sixth-round pick by the San Jose Sharks in the 2001 draft, Crowe was beloved for his combination of toughness and skill: In 491 games with the Sharks, Rangers and New Jersey Devils, Crowe tallied 112 goals, 309 points and 618 penalty minutes.
Unfortunately, Crowe's playing career came to an early end in 2014 due to a concussion.
Since then, the 41-year-old has served as an assistant coach with the New Jersey Devils from 2016-2018, head coach of the Newfoundland Growlers from 2018-2019 and as a team consultant and senior advisor with the Rangers from 2021-2024.
Crowe's tenure as Growlers manager came to an end as he was still suffering from the effects of a past concussion, but he has clearly bounced back strongly in recent years.
