The Georgia Bulldogs had some big college football recruiting wins in June and are now looking to carry that momentum into July, and recruiting experts say Georgia is on track to do just that by acquiring players from rival schools.
Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports projects the Bulldogs to land four-star cornerback Shamari Earls, who is currently committed to Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Earls, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback from Chester, Virginia, has been with the Gamecocks since April. Earls most recently visited Athens on June 21. Michigan has also been actively involved in recruiting him. Earls is the No. 8 cornerback in the country and the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia.
During his time at Thomas Dale High School, Earls excelled in both football and track and field. He played as a two-way athlete, recording 25 tackles and three interceptions on the defensive end last season, while also rushing for 715 yards and eight touchdowns as a receiver and as a return specialist.
Georgia currently has no defensive backs scheduled to enroll in the class of 2025. In addition to Earls, the Bulldogs have been rumored to be in talks recently with four-star safeties Jaylan Morgan and Rashad Johnson.
