Of the four FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQTs) taking place this week in Greece, Latvia, Puerto Rico and Spain, Spain has the shortest odds of advancing to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Their odds of -700 equate to an implied probability of winning of roughly 88 percent, while the Bahamas at +400 are the only team ranked lower than +2000.
Now, don't expect this tournament to be a dominating one — the Bahamas have a talented roster headlined by Deandre Ayton, Buddy Hield and Eric Gordon — but Spain clearly has more depth, experience and home-court advantage.

Spain (-700) is the favorite to win the FIBA OQT
Spain hasn't missed an Olympic Games since 1996, winning two silver medals and one bronze medal in that time. Leadership, coaching and winning experience are key, and Spain has all three of those qualities. They also have a strong defense, a fast-paced attack and reliable three-point shooting.
The Bahamas will pose a significant threat, but I don't expect an upset from Spain, and with odds of -700, meaning you'd have to risk $700 for a chance of making a $100 profit, there's simply no value here.
Consider betting on the Bahamas for points if the team plays their home team in the final round.
Best bets to start the week: Bahamas (-5.5) vs. Finland (-115)
In terms of overall talent, the two teams are clearly in a different league, and with Gordon and Hield's 3-point shooting and Ayton's inside presence, it will be tough for the Bahamas to pull off a win against Finland.
Without Lauri Markkanen, Finland have been manhandled by top teams this year and this time should be no exception.
