Kayla Harrison believes Dakota Dycheva will do great things in mixed martial arts.
UFC women's bantamweight contender Harrison cited what she saw in her American Top Team teammate Ditcheva in her previous promotion, the PFL. The two-time PFL champion (17-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) sees great potential in Ditcheva, who is undefeated in her MMA career and 7-0 since signing with PFL.
“She's killer,” Harrison told MMA Junkie and other reporters on the red carpet at the UFC Hall of Fame on Thursday. “She's the future of MMA. I think she's only going to get better and better.”
“She's young. She's hungry. She's disciplined. She's driven. She's quick-witted. She has a great team around her. I think she has limitless potential.”
As for her career, Harrison had only competed in the PFL prior to her debut in April, when she submitted Holly Holm at UFC 300. While Harrison is grateful for her success in the PFL, she is now excited to be competing in the UFC.
“It's a whole new world, and honestly, I'm really grateful,” Harrison said. “In the past, there have been times when I've felt frustrated or not entirely satisfied with where I am and what I'm doing, but that's not the case anymore. I truly believe everything is happening at the right time and place, and I'm excited to be a part of this promotion.”
“This is like home to me and I intend to finish my career here with lots of gold medals.”
