7:58pm. Jocelyn Roberson UB: Shapos blind change from leg form to Ezoba, full toe, a little too hasty, Maloney leg separation to Gienger, maybe a little low, hips clear, full twist double layout, lands well. 13.300 (5.7, 7.600)
7:57pm. Hesley Rivera VT: Yurchenko double full, a little short and deep, lunging forward. 13.575 (5.0, 8.675, -0.1)
Evie Lau UB: I didn't see it. 12.900 (5.4, 7.500)
7:55pm. Wow, Lian Wong's vault score. She should have lost two points because it was one handed. Wow.
7:52pm. Jordan Chiles UB: Van Leeuwen, blind change to pike-de-Jaeger, Tuhle a little weak, pike-de-Tkachev to Park, Maloney to Gienger, full in with a little bounce. 14.350 (6.0, 8.350)
Arena playing HOT TO GO after Jordan's UB, I strongly agree
7:51pm. Lian Wong VT: Made the Chen. Turned better than expected after the drama we witnessed. Poor leg form mainly, not super powerful especially compared to others on this vault, but not the weakest we've seen. Definitely got a one-handed ND though. Wow, wow. 12.450 (5.6, 8.850, -2.0 ND)
He also jumped over the Yurchenko double full and the big lunge back.
7:47pm. Halfway through the first rotation! Touching in progress.
Apparently, Serie Jones fell through the floor during the vault touch…
7:45pm. Zoe Molomo UB: Stalder to toe-half, tried to do a full but stopped midway, did another half turn to correct, Maloney was a bit short but made it to the pack, van Leeuwen is good, straddled Jaeger with her feet, forced a handstand and sat on the double front, hmm. 10.600 (4.4, 6.200)
7:44pm. Kariya Lincoln VT: Yurchenko double full, big air off the table, big hop back, looked really strong! 14.225 (5.0, 9.225)
7:43pm. Jade Carey UB: I haven't typed in a while. Overall she was in good form, but didn't disrupt her routine and overall did very well so you can be happy with that! 13.575 (5.6, 7.975)
7:42pm. Simone Rose VT: Yurchenko 1.5, hop forward. 13.450 (4.6, 8.850)
7:40pm. Simone Biles UB: Maroney, full toe, a little too quick. Tkaczev, Park, van Leeuwen, full toe, slowed down there, got to the descent. Just a little bounce. 14.425 (6.2, 8.225)
7:38pm. Sunisa Li VT: Yurchenko double full, lands a little short, loses form in the air, hops down and lands safely. 13.525 (5.0, 8.625, -0.1)
Darcy Keillor UB: 13.450 (5.3, 8.150)
7:36pm. Kayla DiCello VT: Yurchenko… OOP. Oh crap. Balkus does the Yurchenko tack, falls and has to have his leg checked. I don't like this. 11.000 (3.0, 8.000)
7:35pm. The contest starts now!
7:29pm. Unfortunately, despite being eligible, I won't be at the arena – I was scheduled to fly out on Thursday morning but had some personal business to attend to the night before and ended up staying in New York (which seemed silly since Delta couldn't arrange another flight for me until Sunday morning) – but I will be live blogging via the Peacock stream!
7:27pm. Okay, my friends at the arena said she was walking/running in the arena and “totally fine,” and then USA Gymnastics tweeted that she was competing. Take a breath, people.
7:25pm. There was some drama with Cirice Jones being examined on the vault a few minutes before the competition started, but was apparently up and walking around afterwards. I hope she's OK. After Skye Blakely being ruled out with an Achilles injury, I can't bear to have another “almost certain” gymnast sidelined in any way.
