The Irish Olympic Committee has officially selected the 10 boxers who will compete as part of Team Ireland at this summer's Olympic Games in Paris. Ireland will field boxers in all women's categories at the Games, which will run from July 27 to August 10, 2024. Boxing preliminaries will take place at the Arena Paris Nord, while the semi-finals and final will be held at the Roland Garros Stadium.
Olympic gold medallist Kelly Harrington said of her official selection: “I'll be competing in my second Olympics. I can't wait. The team is big, we have 10 boxers. It's great.”
“The biggest difference between Tokyo and this Olympics is that there are spectators and it's louder, so it's all about controlling our emotions. I'm happy to be part of history. This year marks 100 years since the Irish team competed in the Olympics, so we're already part of history.”
