Schenectady, New York – Union College has multiple events scheduled in the Capital District on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 2014 Division I Men's Hockey National Championship.
The weekend of events will kick off on Friday, July 19th when the 2013-14 team will travel north to Saratoga. The team will participate in a meet and greet at Saratoga Race Course and be celebrated with a race named after the team.
On Saturday, July 20, Union Hockey will host its annual Mort Silver '55 and Garnet Blades Golf Tournament at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Clifton Park. Members of the 2013-14 team will compete in the event, which will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. A post-round reception will feature a barbecue buffet, raffle, live auction items and speakers beginning at 1 p.m. To register for the golf event or for information on sponsorship opportunities, visit https://unionathletics.com/garnetblades/golf
After golf, the excitement will move to Mohawk Harbor where Union Athletics will take part in a community celebration of their 2014 National Championship beginning at 3:30 p.m. Photos and highlights from the 2013-2014 season will be shown on a large outdoor screen and team members will be available to sign autographs and take photos beginning at 4 p.m. Additionally, the event will feature raffles and giveaways as well as food trucks to help get fans ready for the opening day of Harbor Jam beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday's event at Mohawk Harbor is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.
The entire 2013-14 team looks forward to returning to Schenectady and celebrating our 10th anniversary with friends of the program and the Capital Region community.
