The Georgia football team has landed another local player in the 2025 class.
North Oconee senior wide receiver Landon Roldan announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on social media Thursday night.
“100% committed,” Roldan reposted on X (formerly Twitter).
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Roldan is a three-star prospect and the first player from North Oconee to commit to the University of Georgia, according to coach Tyler Orlando. He is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 97 wide receiver in the Class of 2025 and the No. 68 prospect in the state of Georgia.
What will Landon Roldan bring to Georgia football?
Though the numbers don't show it, he proved himself to the coaching staff.
“He went to camp there a couple weeks ago and did really well,” Aurant said, “and did well enough that they asked him to come back and he came back a second time and had another really good camp. They offered him at the end of camp and he just went on his official visit last weekend.”
According to a post by Radi Nabulsi of UGASports.com, Roldan ran the 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds.
His profile is reminiscent of receiver Ladd McConkey, who was drafted 34th overall by the Chargers in 2024 after a stellar career at Georgia.
McConkey was rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, the No. 187 receiver overall in the country and the No. 126 best player in the state of Georgia.
Roldan will be the 17th student admitted to Georgia's Class of 2025.
Among the schools he received offers from were Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt University, Central Michigan University and the Air Force Academy.
“It's always been a dream for him to play at Georgia,” Orlando said, “and having that opportunity and being only 15-20 minutes away from campus, I think that played a big role in his decision.”
Kirby Smart tweeted his own response to Roldan's decision: “Go Dawgs.”
