Global Chess LeagueThe International Chess Federation (FIDE) Tech Mahindraa leading global provider of technology consulting and digital solutions to businesses across industries, is set to host its highly anticipated second tournament in London. Following the success of the first tournament, the league aims to bring the world's best chess players to one of the most historic cities.
A unique 10-day chess league featuring top players Friends House, Located in central London, From October 3rd to 12th, 2024. Based on feedback from fans around the world, London was chosen as the location for this season to cater to the rapidly growing fan base and enthusiasm for chess in the European region.

Through this innovative league, FIDE and Tech Mahindra aim to revolutionise the chess fan experience through a new format and ecosystem, providing a comprehensive platform for fans to root for their favourite teams and stars, similar to major global sports leagues. The second edition will see top players from around the world, including current world champions and emerging stars, compete in a unique team format that emphasises strategy, collaboration and high stakes play.

The league aims to build on the success of its inaugural season and further expand its viewership base through live broadcasts, interactive fan experiences and upcoming community engagement activities. Global Chess League Trophy Tour. In this tournament, players will compete in a unique mixed team format of six players, with each team including two top female chess players and one prodigy. Each team will play a total of ten matches in a double round-robin format, with the winner of each match determined by a best-of-six board scoring system.

In the second season, FIDE and Tech Mahindra will join forces to tap into the growing chess fanbase, increase the audience for chess viewing and engage with exciting fan activities such as the ongoing all-inclusive Hackathon, which invites participants of all chess skill levels and expertise to gather ideas to improve the way chess is experienced, played and consumed. Participants can pitch their ideas across a range of categories including education, digital innovation, social impact, business and arts.

Global Chess League is the world's first and largest official franchised league, where chess players from all over the world will compete in a unique joint team format.
