When I think about Souls games, literally using your hands in combat doesn't necessarily seem like a good way to defeat a boss.
However, Shadow of the Erdtree introduced martial arts, allowing you to go practically unarmed and use your fists of rage against Mesmer and his allies.
One way to take advantage of this is to acquire Dryleaf Arts, one of the “weapons” needed to use martial arts.
However, like most desirable weapons, Dry Leaf Arts is a bit hidden, so below we'll reveal exactly how to obtain it.
Where to Find Dry Leaf Art in the Shadow of the Elder Tree
To learn martial arts you will need to learn Dryleaf Arts from none other than Dryleaf Dane.
Now, you never actually see his name unless you make a very special gesture, so don't worry if you're confused about who he is.
The gesture in question is called “May the Best Win,” and to perform it you'll need to go to the Highroad Cross Site of Grace.
This can be found after making your way through the entirety of Ensis Castle and defeating the boss waiting for you at the end.
Go through the castle and come out on the other side and you'll find your first Grace, so you can't miss it.
Here you'll find the Monk's Missive item, as well as the May the Best Win gesture you'll need.
Equip it and continue east to find the Moorth Ruins Site of Grace, where you'll notice an NPC who won't talk to you.
Using the aforementioned gesture in front of the NPC will initiate combat with Dryleaf Dane.
Defeating him will give you Dryleaf Arts as a reward on the ground as you are teleported back to the main map.
