Amid talk of a future bout with current light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall claims the Brazilian's signature left hook, which has seen him finish off many opponents during his time in the Octagon, is quite possibly the best strike in mixed martial arts at the moment.
Pereira, a former undefeated middleweight champion and the current strongest light heavyweight, is scheduled to appear in the main event of UFC 303 during International Fight Week this weekend in a title rematch against former champion Jiří Procza.
Meanwhile, Atherton-born Aspinall will co-headline UFC 304 in Manchester next month when he will become the first fighter since Renan Barao to defend his interim title in a rematch against regular rival Curtis Blaydes.
The pair have been in constant talk of a heavyweight title defense against Pereira and have both been open to the idea of a “super fight” since appearing on the same card at UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden in November.

And analysing the technical abilities of renowned kickboxing striker Pereira ahead of his return at UFC 303, Aspinall was marvelling at the boxing prowess of the Sao Paulo-born finisher, claiming he currently has the best punching move in the sport.
“If I had to add anything to Alex Pereira and his left hook, it would probably be of “It's the best striking in MMA right now. He can literally touch anybody with a left hook, bink them and they're down.”
Pereira, who will face the aforementioned Czech Republic finisher Prochazka in a rematch this weekend in Las Vegas, defeated the former by second-round knockout last November to capture the vacant light heavyweight title.
Pereira defended his title at UFC 300 earlier this year, stopping returning former champion Jamahal Hill with another dominant first-round knockout win.
