Oleksandr Usyk stands to lose his title as the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion of the world following a ruling by a major boxing organization.
The 37-year-old became the first undisputed heavyweight champion when he defeated Tyson Fury in May last year to win the WBC championship in addition to his existing WBA, WBO and IBF titles.
However, he will vacate the IBF title as he is unable to defend it against IBF mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois due to a mandatory rematch with Fury scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The vacant IBF heavyweight championship will be contested between two British boxers, Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, on September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

Usyk became the first undefeated heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis held the title for five months from November 1999 to April 2000.
But Usyk, who has held absolute status with all four belts, is the first undisputed heavyweight champion since the WBO was recognised by other boxing organisations around 2007.

The Ukrainian, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind the possibility of losing one of his belts.
Usyk posted a video on social media platform Instagram in which he appeared to acknowledge losing the belt.
“Anthony and Daniel, listen. [the] IBF Title [is] Something that is important to you. [The IBF belt is] “This is a present for you on the 21st of September,” Boxer said.
