Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning will join the NBC Olympic team hosting the opening ceremony of the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris this summer.
Clarkson and Manning will be joined in coverage by Mike Tirico. today Show hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.
“This summer's Opening Ceremony will be unlike anything we've seen before. Kelly and Peyton will join Mike to show off all the spectacular sights that will take place along the Seine leading up to the lighting of the cauldron. I’m excited to be able to describe sound,” Molly said. Mr. Solomon, executive producer and president of NBC Olympic Productions. “Savannah and Hoda took on one of the most exciting Opening Ceremony positions ever, watching athletes from around the world sail through the river in a never-before-seen national parade. I'm reporting from the bridge.”
For the opening ceremony in Paris, stadiums will be removed and the Seine will be transformed into a four-mile-long flotilla of more than 90 boats carrying thousands of athletes from more than 200 countries. Clarkson, Manning and Tirico will be stationed at the Trocadero, near the ceremonial finish line with views of the Seine and the Eiffel Tower.
NBC and Peacock will provide live coverage of the opening ceremony on Friday, July 26th at noon (ET). Telemundo will provide coverage in Spanish starting at 1pm ET. Primetime coverage begins at 7:30pm ET/PT on NBC and Peacock.
NBCU owns the U.S. media rights through 2032 to the Olympic Games scheduled for Paris (2024), Milan-Cortina (2026), Los Angeles (2028) and Brisbane (2032). The host city for the 2030 Winter Olympics has not yet been decided.
