The Thai fighter has earned $40,000 (HK$390,000) in performance bonuses alone in the past year, on top of his regular undisclosed fight prize money, and has used the money to improve his training and diet.
“After competing in ONE for a while, I had the opportunity to make more money, eat better, have better nutrition,” he told The Post. “It made me stronger and more successful.”
For Suabrak, this will be his second consecutive bout against a Russian and he is coming off a points win over Vladimir Kuzmin at ONE Fight Night 21 and has been preparing by sparring with two-time K-1 Max champion Buakaw Banchamek, who has fought the Russian seven times.
“He has a lot of experience and has fought a lot of Russians,” Suabrack, 27, said of Buakaw. “He gave me advice on footwork, cutting angles, dodging and countering, which was very important and I appreciate it.”
He last beat Kuzmin by decision at ONE Fight Night 21 and said the win had greatly boosted his reputation within the promotion.
“Of course, that fight was important because Wladimir has been with ONE Championship longer than me and he has faced champions,” he added.
Nabati is fresh off decision wins over two of Thailand's top fighters, but Suerak knows just how dangerous the Russian can be having been knocked out after just 20 seconds in their fight in Yekaterinburg last year.
“I think Nabati is just as dangerous as Kuzmin, but in a different way,” Suabrack said. “Navati is faster, but I feel like Kuzmin has more power.”
Nabatee boasts a 100% win rate in ONE Championship, while Suabrac is riding a six-fight winning streak, so both fighters will be riding high on momentum heading into the bout.
