UFC icon Chuck Liddell is helping Mike Tyson solve his in-ring opponent Jake Paul.
Tyson and Paul are scheduled to compete on July 20th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL team Dallas Cowboys.
The bout, which will be broadcast on Netflix, has sparked widespread outrage from boxing fans due to the staggering 31-year age difference between the two fighters.
While Paul is 27 years old and in the prime of his athletic career, Tyson will have just celebrated his 58th birthday by the time he steps into the ring.
During his heyday, Tyson was one of the most feared boxers of his era, had an incredible knockout record, and was the undisputed heavyweight champion in an era when there were only three recognized belts.
At age 20, he defeated Trevor Berbick to become the youngest heavyweight champion in history, sharing the ring with the likes of Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield on his way to the Hall of Fame.
But age catches up with everyone. “Iron Mike” is no exception.
Just a year and a half ago, he was seen on video walking with a cane, but a month later he was using a wheelchair to get around.
Despite serious concerns about Tyson's condition, former and long-reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Liddell insists the boxing legend only needs one blow to put Paul's light out.
“As soon as Tyson hits me, it's over,” Liddell told TMZ. “What remains in the end is power.
“If he hits, that's it. If you've ever seen Mike, he still hits.”
Liddell then sent the “problem child” an ominous warning: “Hey, Jake, stay hidden.”
It is unclear at this time whether Paul vs. Tyson will be an exhibition match or a professional contest, but neither fighter will wear a head guard.
MMA journalist Ariel Helwani said organizers are working to get the fight sanctioned as a professional fight under the auspices of the Texas Boxing Commission.
However, it seems unlikely that a well-respected organizing body would name the event.
The number of rounds and weight to compete in has not yet been announced.
While Paul has primarily fought at cruiserweight (200 pounds), Tyson weighed in at 220.4 pounds in his last exhibition bout against fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020.
