The NFL season is slowly creeping closer, which means fantasy football is just around the corner. While the actual games haven't started yet, fantasy football pre-draft season has certainly begun.
Fantasy football is an exciting way to engage fans around the world and a fun way to get into the sport. Fantasy managers can choose any player they like. The Chargers team doesn't have any big fantasy names outside of quarterback Justin Herbert. Still, NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah thinks the new additions could be important for fantasy managers. Jeremiah lists running back JK Dobbins as a player who could be big in fantasy football.
“If you're getting ready for fantasy football season, draft J.K. Dobbins,” Jeremiah opined. “J.K. Dobbins is a really good player when he's healthy. J.K. Dobbins just doesn't fit in offensively.”
That's high praise coming from a player who bounced back from a torn Achilles and tore his ACL just under three years ago. The Chargers believe Dobbins can be an impact player on their team, which is why they signed him, but him being a significant fantasy option is another story entirely. A lot of things need to go right for Dobbins to be a solid fantasy player in 2024, starting with his health. Dobbins has only played 23 games in his four-year career, plus, if healthy, he'll be competing for touches with former Ravens forward Gus Edwards.
The only thing the Chargers are worried about is his health, if he's healthy the rest will fall into place and Jeremiah might be on to something good.
