One of the standout stars at this year's Olympic Track and Field Trials was 16-year-old sprinter Quincy Wilson, who held his own against more experienced runners nearly twice his age.
And on Monday night, he'll have a chance to realize his dream of making the U.S. team in the men's 400 meters.
Wilson, who already holds the under-18 world record in the event after breaking a 42-year-old record in the opening round with a time of 44.66 seconds, set a new record in Sunday's semi-final, crossing the line in a personal best of 44.59 seconds to advance to Monday night's final in third place.
“It's amazing, he's 16 years old and he comes out here and competes like a true competitor and he's living in the moment and not making a big deal out of it,” said Olympic gold medalist Michael Norman, who will face Wilson in the final.
