Bethlehem, Pennsylvania – Head Field Hockey Coach, Lehigh University Kelsi Likens The Mountain Hawks recently hired Cody Savitsky as an assistant coach.
Savitsky (nee Cody Hunsicker) served as an assistant coach at Kent State University from May 2022 to February 2024. Savitsky served as the Golden Flashes' interim head coach from February until joining the Mountain Hawks in May. As assistant and interim head coach, Savitsky assisted the head coach in creating and implementing effective practice plans and game strategies, recruiting players, analyzing team and opponent film and supporting the personal, academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
Prior to attending Kent State, Savitsky coached under head coach at Lehigh University. Kelsi Likens She will serve at the University of New Haven from August 2020 to May 2022. Her duties under Mr. Likens included helping develop technical and tactical practice plans and weekly schedules, overseeing student-athletes' academic progress in biweekly meetings, running study halls throughout the week, filming for the team, and assisting with camps and recruiting activities.
From August 2018 to June 2020, Savitsky served as an assistant coach at Division III program Washington College, where she was tasked with helping develop practice plans to ensure tactical and technical goals were met, coordinating the defensive penalty corner unit including planning and in-game management, team film sessions and recruiting management.
Savitsky has club coaching experience with both HTC Field Hockey Club in Connecticut and SPark Field Hockey in Maryland.
Savitsky graduated from Lafayette College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, where he was a member of the field hockey team. During his career at College Hill, he was team captain and was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team. In 2022, he will earn a Master of Science in Sport Management from the University of New Haven.
Savitsky and her husband, Nick Savitsky, were recently married.
