The Paul Leparc Memorial Traditional Karate Tournament was held this weekend.
A spokesman said: “The Paul Leparc Memorial Traditional Karate Tournament concluded with a spectacular display of skill and determination from some of Bermuda's finest martial artists. The prestigious event, held at the Whitney Institute, showcased athletes from a range of divisions and culminated in an exciting showdown that highlighted the depth of talent within Bermuda's karate community.”
“Toni Cabral put on a thrilling display of martial arts prowess to emerge as the overall winner and capture the coveted Paul Leparc Memorial Trophy in the Black Belt Combine division. Cabral's precision and technique were on full display, drawing praise from spectators and competitors alike.
“Another standout performance was from Shorikan Dojo's Michael Tristan Burgess, who put up a fiercely fought kumite match in the Advanced Boys Under 19 division. Burgess' tenacity and skill were evident as he emerged victorious against a formidable opponent, Qui Mendoza, in a closely contested match.”
“We are extremely proud of all of the athletes who took part in this year's Paul Leparc Memorial Tournament,” said Shott Cup Director Edmund Johnson, “The level of talent and dedication on display today truly reflects the spirit of Bermuda fighting sports.”
