- Czech boxer Lukas Bukovaz proposes to girlfriend after losing a bout
- However, his girlfriend turned him down in front of 20,000 fans.
- Bukobaz later claimed he had not cheated on the woman.
A mixed martial artist proposed to his girlfriend after losing a match, but she rejected him, accused him of cheating and humiliated him in front of 20,000 fans.
The awkward incident, filmed at the Clash of the Stars tournament in the Czech Republic last weekend, shows Czech boxer Lukas Bukovas getting down on one knee and proposing marriage after losing a bout.
The woman put her hands over her face in embarrassment as the crowd cheered, indicating bad news was on the way.
“Given everything that's happened, I think probably not,” she told Mic.
'i don't think so.'
The crowd booed, and a man at ringside was seen trying to splash water on the woman.
Afterwards, Bukobaz's girlfriend explained to the 20,000 boxing fans that he had been cheating on her with another woman.
Bukobaz later denied the accusations of infidelity in a video posted to his Instagram account.
Social media users have been offering their sympathies to the MMA fighter since his public humiliation went viral.
“How dare you take the double L,” one fan posted to X.
“Two losses in two minutes. Tough result for the brothers,” replied another.
“It's a bad night for everyone,” said a third.
Other fans suggested that Bukobaz could have timed the proposal better.
“Know when to choose the timing,” one person wrote.
“He could have saved it for when he won the game. Someone should have taught this guy timing.”
Even more embarrassing for Bukovac, the bout he lost came in a match where he and another fighter, Patrick Holbert, had teamed up to take on Jan Michalek in a two-on-one bout that was widely expected to be won.
