Klay Thompson is one of the greatest players in NBA history.
However, he is no longer the player he once was, and will be Free Agent It's a tough game for the Golden State Warriors.
Saturday, The Athletic's Anthony Slater The report offers some interesting details about Thompson's future.
Via Slater: “Negotiations between Klay Thompson and the Warriors are effectively frozen, per sources. No offers have been made. Regardless of the market, it seems more likely than ever that he will leave the only franchise he's ever known.”
Thompson was the 11th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Washington State University and has played his entire career with the Warriors.
During this period, they won four NBA championships and advanced to the NBA Finals six times.
However, the Warriors are coming off a season in which they finished as the 10th seed in the Western Conference with a 46-36 record.
They missed out on the NBA playoffs after losing to the Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament.
Thompson finished the regular season with averages of 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 43.2% from the field and 38.7% from three-point range in 78 games.
In the consolation game against the Kings, Thompson had a tough night, going 0-for-10 from the field and 0-for-6 from three-point range in 32 minutes of playing time, finishing with just 0 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist.
Thompson's future will be one of the biggest talking points of the offseason.
