2024 U.S. Olympic Selection
It's Friday night, everyone. What else would you like to do besides watch swimming and talk about swimming? It's day 7 of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials Finals. There are five events tonight, with three finals at the start of the session, followed by two semi-finals to close out the night.
The night will kick off with the men's Splash and Dash, which should be an exciting race. Adam Cheneyplural) will advance to the final, and the top two could come from anywhere in the pool, but it seems hard to bet on them. Chris Juliano Given his situation this week, for now Jack Alexie It's not easy for him, Caleb DresselTonight they compete in the 50m freestyle final/100m butterfly double semi-final. Ryan Held and Michael Andrew They will compete for the top two places.
it is Regan Smith She had a strong run in the 200 backstroke. She's had a great week in Indianapolis and is the American record holder in that event. She competed in the 200 butterfly final before last night's semifinal, but this is her only race tonight so she'll be going all out. There's an interesting race unfolding behind her. Katie Grimes He's looking to beat some of the best backstrokers America has to offer.
The final event of the night is the men's 200m individual medley, and it looks like it's going to be a total mess. Chase Cullis In the semi-finals, he won lane 4 with a strong swim. Carson Foster A quiet race led to a 4th place finish, which started the discussion of whether this was going to be a Foster/Kalish show like the 400IM was, or if they could just afford it. Shane Casas or Kieran Smith To get into the top two.
