Lewis had some success with his aggressive stance, occasionally pinching Zercher and landing frequent punches to the body, but it was his defense that got him beat. The broadcast team pointed out that Lewis lowered his right hand and lifted his chin every time he attacked Zercher. Zercher was aware of this and landed left hooks at will in the first round, but settled down to land punches in the second round that landed beautifully on Lewis and knocked him out.

Zercher improved to 9-0 with 77% of his wins coming by finish. In his post-fight interview, he said he was ready to compete in the $1 million PFL tournament. With a record like that, it would be hard to deny him a spot in the playoffs.
