The Utah Hockey Club announced today that it will host a Prospect Development Camp from July 1-5. On-ice sessions will begin July 1 at Park City Ice Arena, followed by a free scrimmage open to fans at the Delta Center on July 5. The week-long event is designed to provide Utah's top prospects with NHL coaching and instruction during both on-ice and off-ice training sessions.
As part of the camp, the team will hold a media availability with general manager Bill Armstrong, the team's first-round draft picks and select prospects on Sunday, June 30 at the Grand America Hotel at a time to be announced. On-ice sessions are scheduled for Monday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The players will also take part in a 4-on-4 intrasquad scrimmage on Friday, July 5 at 1 p.m. at the Delta Center. The match is free and open to the public. The event will feature a mock match with on-ice referees, 3-on-3 matches and a post-game shootout.
Former first-round draft picks Connor Geekie (2022), Maverick Lamoureux (2022), Dmitry Simashev (2023) and Daniil Butt (2023) are among the top prospects expected to take part in the training camp, which will include scrimmages. Defensemen Maximilian Schüber and Artyom Duda and goaltender Michael Hrabal are also expected to take part. The full camp roster will be announced after the NHL Draft.
Players will be available to media following on-ice training sessions July 1 and July 2, and after the team's scrimmage on July 5. Media availability will be closed to the public.
