Media mogul Ice Cube is a well-known sports fanatic whose passion extends to basketball as the founder of the Big 3 League.
When it comes to his NBA knowledge, Ice Cube was put to the test on the latest episode of “Dubs Talk” when NBC Sports Bay Area's Monte Poole asked him to name his all-time starting five.
“That's a tough one,” Ice Cube told Poole as he considered his response.
It took him a second or two to narrow down each position, but Ice Cube ultimately chose Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and Shaquille O'Neal, with Jordan at shooting guard and Bryant at number 3.
“You can't win that,” Ice Cube said.
While some Warriors fans might include 3-point shooting king Stephen Curry in their all-time starting five, Ice Cube included his Splash Brother in his starting five of current NBA players.
“We have to bring in Giannis. [Antetokounmpo] “As one of those guys,” Ice Cube told Poole, “I still like Steph as a point guard.”
After naming Antetokounmpo and Curry, Ice Cube named Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and 2024 NBA MVP Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets as his starting five to choose from among the active players.
While Curry isn't on Ice Cube's all-time list, it's clear the rapper has a lot of respect for the reigning Warriors legend.
