Jake Paul will be fighting the man who is truly the face of bare-knuckle boxing.
Promotion officials announced Tuesday that Paul will face BKFC superstar and former UFC fighter Mike Perry in an eight-round cruiserweight boxing bout at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., on July 20. The event will stream on DAZN PPV.
The match was first reported on Twitter by Happy Punch.
Paul and Mike Tyson were originally scheduled to fight on that date, but Tyson's health issues forced them to cancel the planned date. The fight is now scheduled to take place on November 15th.
Additionally, Amanda Serrano, who is expected to rematch Katie Taylor in the Paul vs. Tyson fight, will face Stevie Morgan in the co-main event.
MVP candidate Ashton “H2O” Sylva was scheduled to face Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield at the event, but an undisclosed injury has forced Schofield to withdraw from the bout, a person with knowledge of the promotion's plans told MMA Fighting. Sylva is expected to remain on the card against an opponent to be announced at a later date.
Since losing his first professional boxing bout to Tommy Fury in February 2023, Paul has won a unanimous decision over Nate Diaz in August of this year, as well as first-round knockout wins over Andre August and Ryan Borland. In the Paul vs. MMA saga, the YouTube star has also won twice over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, one over former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and a knockout win over former Bellator and ONE champion Ben Askren.
Perry has won all six of his fights since retiring from UFC, including five wins in the BKFC ring, as well as a hybrid rules decision victory over Michael Shields at Triller's Triad Combat event in November 2021. “Platinum” has wins over the likes of Luke Rockhold, Michael Page, Eddie Alvarez and Thiago Alves in BKFC.
Tickets for the match will go on sale Wednesday.
