Minneapolis (June 18, 2024) – Great Clips, the Official Hair Salon of the NHL and NHLPA, today announced the second inductees of its Virtual Hockey Hair Hall of Fame as part of the brand's annual event. Show us your flow Campaign: From April 17 to May 5, Great Clips invited hockey fans across the U.S. and Canada to share photos and videos of their own unique and personalized hockey hair flow on social media for a chance to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
A voting panel consisting of Matthew Tkachuk (Florida Panthers), William Karlsson (Vegas Golden Knights), gold medalist and professional women's hockey player Hilary Knight and Great Clips narrowed the field down to 12 finalists based on the creativity and originality of the submissions, passion for hockey and hockey hair, and the overall quality and appeal of the content.
For the first time, Great Clips is asking hockey fans to vote daily at GreatClips.com/HockeyHair to determine the best hockey hair flow.
This year's six inductees, based on the most votes received, are Andrew Guthrie of Bethany, Conn., Court Mower of Lehi, Utah, Drew Celnas of Worth, Ill., Hank Zirinski of Blackfalds, Alberta, Jada Edwards of Grayson, Georgia, and Winley Schmidt of West Bloomfield, Mich. The full Hockey Hair Hall of Fame can be found here.
All Hall of Fame inductees will receive two tickets to an NHL game of their choice during the 2024-25 regular season, a $300 Great Clips gift card (or Canadian equivalent), a $300 NHLShop.com gift card (or Canadian equivalent), a hockey puck signed by NHL stars Matthew Tkachuk and William Karlsson, and exposure on Great Clips' social and online channels.
“For the second year in a row, fans showed off some incredibly unique hockey hair fluff,” said Lisa Hake, vice president of marketing and communications for Great Clips. “The inductees span generations, hockey hairstyles and hockey fan demographics, and we look forward to forever memorializing these incredible fans and their fluffies in the Hockey Hair Hall of Fame.”
