Boston Celtics fans celebrating the NBA championship
The celebration has been going on for about an hour now. Before the game ended with the Celtics winning by a huge margin, but look at the scene behind me. There's still a crowd here. Some people are climbing up the light pole. Some people are climbing up the light pole. But the biggest thing that's happened in the last few minutes is this ladder that people brought from somewhere on the grounds of the Garden. People actually climbed up that ladder and went up the building 25 to 30 feet into the air. As the celebration here continues, look to the left and you'll see people climbing up this pole. People have been celebrating this win here for quite some time. Uh, we also saw some people throwing up barricades and people lifting people up. Crowd surfing. It was a fun atmosphere, but you can see that things are starting to slowly get worse as the Boston Police Department allowed people to celebrate for nearly an hour. But you start to hear the sirens and you can feel that, uh, this is going to end soon. Here it is. We also saw some people fall. It was obviously two people climbing. Some people actually fell down, but now hundreds of people are celebrating this victory in the middle of Causeway Street. It's a huge celebration. The atmosphere here is enthusiastic. Everyone is happy. But the problem is that when young people drink alcohol and raise the number 18 flag, the situation can escalate quickly. Boston Police are on the scene right now. You can see officers rushing in to take control of the situation.
