Since the partnership began in 2020, A first for MMA The ITA and GAMMA have worked hard to develop a transparent and accountable framework for anti-doping activities. In sportsThis contract renewal ensures that this joint mission of promoting fair play and clean competition will continue to thrive in the future. GAMMA has currently renewed its contract with ITA until the end of 2025.
The ITA will continue to support GAMMA's anti-doping program, including implementing anti-doping activities based on comprehensive risk assessments tailored to the unique demands of MMA that the ITA applies to all organizations representing the sport, conducting intelligence-driven in-competition testing and independently handling results management. The ITA's responsibilities also extend to processing Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) and providing targeted education programs designed to foster a culture of clean sport among MMA athletes.
GAMMA athletes, athlete support staff, officials and all others involved in MMA will also have the opportunity to report suspicions and potential anti-doping rule violations through the ITA’s proactive reporting platform, REVEAL.

Through our work with more than a dozen martial and combat sports, ITA has unique expertise in implementing anti-doping programs for these sports. We invite all combat sports that are not already working with us to join forces with ITA to harmonize anti-doping efforts for athletes around the world.”
GAMMA President Alexander Engelhardt expressed his support for the continued partnership. “GAMMA prioritizes integrity and respect in sport. Our new partnership with ITA is driven by our commitment to these core values. Without these, competitiveness and fair play cannot be fostered and the entire purpose of sport is undermined. We will continue to work with ITA to implement world-class governance standards in anti-doping.”
GAMMA is not currently a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code, but is working to become one. GAMMA remains committed to aligning its anti-doping policies with the standards set by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The ITA will continue to support GAMMA in ensuring compliance with WADA rules and fostering an environment where athletes can compete fairly and are protected from doping.
