The case of a former Galesburg mixed martial arts coach and personal trainer who was arrested on sex charges about 15 months ago is ready for trial.
Beau W. Admire, 43, who formerly owned Badger Combatives in downtown Galesburg, was charged with two counts of sexual assault and aggravated sexual abuse following three separate incidents in Monmouth. He was charged with one crime.
He appeared via Zoom on Wednesday before Ninth Circuit Judge James Standard in Warren County Court.
Defense attorney Andrew Stuckert said the case is ready for trial and acknowledged the state had offered a plea deal in the case.
“My client has no interest in accepting that offer,” Stuckert said.
Admire was arrested on November 2, 2022 in Knox County on a $100,000 warrant. Later that month, he was released from Warren County Jail on bond.
All three charges are first-degree felonies, punishable by up to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
The aggravated sexual abuse criminal charge alleges sexual misconduct against a minor in which Admire was in a position of trust, supervision, or authority.
The final pretrial conference in the case is scheduled for April 5th at 10 a.m.
Badger Combatives LLC was first registered with the state in March 2019. According to Secretary of State records, the LLC was involuntarily dissolved in September 2023.
Admire also served as a martial arts coach at Monmouth and Abingdon.
