Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal are set to have a rematch, this time in boxing, as the match begins again, 209-305.
After weeks of rumors about a showdown, it became official on Wednesday. The two former UFC stars will box on June 1st at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. The bout will be a 10-round, 175-pound bout and will be streamed on Fanmio Pay-Per-View for $79.99 ($49.99 for pre-orders). (until April 12th).
Diaz and Masvidal first fought for the inaugural BMF title at UFC 244 in November 2019. The fight was stopped after three rounds because Diaz suffered a laceration.
“Nate is walking like a dead man,” Masvidal said in a statement. “I can't wait to prove that last time wasn't a fluke. He was saved by the referee. Now we're boxing. He says he's good at it, but I There's no way to win. I'm not going to even let him breathe in that ring. If he thinks our MMA match was bad, it's going to get even worse.”
Diaz, 38, made his boxing debut in August, losing a 10-round decision to Jake Paul at 185 pounds. The bout marked his boxing debut and his first combat sports competition since leaving the UFC in 2022.
Masvidal, 39, has not fought since retiring from MMA in 2023. He has made significant contributions to the martial arts world as a promoter of Gamebred Boxing and Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA.
