Beatriz Via Mesquita won her professional MMA debut in stunning fashion at Spaten Fight Night on June 15, 2024. She was scheduled to face veteran striker Horghina Ramos, also competing in MMA for the first time in her career, in the first bout of the night. She wasn't the only big name on the card, which also featured a main event rematch between Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva under boxing rules. The bout was very unusual, being an exhibition bout, resulting in a draw with neither fighter able to finish the fight.
But Mesquita easily stole the show, which is no surprise considering she'd been working towards this moment for over a year. She showed good head movement in the process of probing before landing an overhand right to set up a bodylock takedown. Ramos got to her feet, but Mesquita took her down again with a big throw, landing a few strikes in half guard before stepping into mount. She then turned up the power, landing a few hard shots on Ramos, encouraging him to face up, allowing Mesquita to take her back. It was only a matter of seconds at that point, and Mesquita quickly sunk into a rear-naked choke and squeezed hard to earn the tap at 2:33 of the first round.
