Besides the aforementioned interview, I've hosted several Q&A events with Nelson and even had dinner with him, so there's no doubt that Nelson is a top-notch guy. Tim Blake Nelson really shines in this film. This is one of his best performances, it's funny, charming and has its share of heartbreaking moments. He brings so much to every aspect of Van that it makes the character so relatable and unique. His mix of quirks and genuine vulgarity make him an American original and Nelson is delighted to bring it to life.

The film deals with the psychological toll of a fighter and he captures that very well. It's very interesting to hear him talk about his preparation.
